Wow.  I had the extreme pleasure to see these guys in action at the Cedar Tavern in Access Cedar Gig I on 30/1/2011for the first time.  The band were down a man, the drummer was ill, so what did they do?  Did they cancel?  No they bloody didn’t they showed up and played an accoustic set, that takes mighty big Kahooners and they were brilliant.

Lyrically they are very introspective and that is brave, always brave.  Their delivery was beautifully understated but very confident.  I really got into it, I would have danced my a*s off but I don’t do that sort of thing, sorry.  There were a few technical difficulties with a suicidal microphone that just kept launching itself at them, which was a shame.  But it failed to stop the quality of their set from coming through.

Ok, I will admit to being an old bugger, I’m in my very late thirties think somewhere around thirty thirteen.  No I am not bragging about my survival rate, I am bragging that being my age I have had the oppourtunity to see and hear a lot of different bands in my time.  Two great bands that I have seen and listened to a lot are Joy Division and The Cure.  They were both unique to an extreme and singularly talented.  I have to be totally honest; The Curiosity Shop has every chance of joining these bands as a true great.  It is early days, but I am very wowed by what I have heard and the young people I met.

Keep up the good work guys I can’t wait to see you again and at full force.
